This is a completely avoidable disaster and leaders from each of these districts must be held to account. Suggest you email your School Board and Superintendent and let them know what you think. Hundreds of millions of dollars were dished out to mitigate the impact of COVID on the kids but in the end, it was a waste and the kids suffered!
First, congratulations to my alma mater Riverside School District for being the only District in the county with positive numbers. Maybe each of the superintendents should reach out to Dr. Ken Russell and figure find out how he was able to lead his district to a positive result despite the same challenges faced by all of the others.
Test scores for the big-3, Spokane Public Schools, Central Valley and Mead plunged despite millions of dollars in federal and state funds, our taxpayer money, to keep this from happening. I encourage you to submit a public records request to your district asking for the line item expenditures of CARES, ACA and LAP funding, who was in charge of setting the priorities, and why the leaders still are employed.
Time to end all mandates and give these kids their future back. You can make it happen. If you have a child or children in school, take the mask off them and never put it on again. Attend the next board meeting and demand accountability and solutions.
